We’re looking for a passionate, content-savvy social media specialist to play an important role on our team.

You have an insatiable appetite for information in all its permutations, know how to turn a phrase and have a keen sense of what resonates (visually and with copy) with specific audiences across individual social media channels.

You stay on top of social media trends but most importantly, you know how to cut through the noise to identify the most relevant and compelling content for your community.

Working with a cross-functional team of digital marketers, you wil support specific clients to drive engagement, follower acquisition, and revenue across social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

The Social Media Content Specialist will report to the Social Media Director and help the social media team and digital marketing teams build and maintain a best-in-class social media presence for our clients.

Highly enthusiastic, creative, detail-oriented, and customer-centric, this individual will:

o Build the social media calendar
o Develop and publish social media content across channels
o Help build and engage the social community
o Track and optimize social media performance based on insights

Responsibilities:

  • Daily posting across channels (leveraging publishing tools like Sprout, Curalate, and Hootsuite)

  • Identification of potential content to leverage across channels (including stock photos and original content in the form of video, photos and Boomerangs.)

  • Compile (links, images, videos, headlines) into one central repository for access by the Social and Digital Marketing teams.

  • Create unique branded content and messaging befitting of each channel with the purpose of achieving key marketing or business initiatives (including acquisition, retention, and lead gen)

  • Develops and owns the social and online editorial calendar

  • Updates the calendar with new messaging, posts, and links that support our customer’s branding, marketing (acquisition and retention), and social media engagement goals.

  • Writes and facilitates posts and messaging within social channels in addition to blog content.

  • Collaborates with cross functional teams (including Paid Search, email, Customer Service, and Brand) to provide insight into trends and to ensure consistency of messaging, approach and tone

  • Provides basic reporting on performance across social channels – as well as for specific social- specific marketing campaigns

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills (writing and/or creative samples may be requested along with results)

  • Keen understanding of the different needs of customers within various channels (Twitter versus Facebook, Instagram Stories versus Facebook Live, etc.) and how to best communicate within each channel for optimal results

  • Insatiable appetite for emerging technology and how to best leverage it to build engagement with existing customers and to acquire new ones

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Paid Social, Brand, Email, and Customer Service to ensure consistency of messaging and to help plan cohesive integrated marketing programs

  • Highly literate in publishing, reporting, listening, and engaging communities as well as basic analytics using tools like Google Analytics, Ominture, WebTrends.

  • Understanding of basic community building principles, tools, techniques, and best practices

  • Keen understanding of hashtag strategies to grow awareness and reach

  • Understanding of UGC and influencer strategies

    Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience developing social media calendars

  • 3-5 years experience publishing content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn

  • 3 years copy writing experience – specifically for blogs and social media

  • 3 years experience using social media listening, publishing, and analytics tools (such as Sprout, Curalte, and Hootsuite)

  • 2 years tracking and reporting experience using the native social media channel tools (i.e.: Facebook Business Insights)

  • Demonstrated experience building communities though content strategy

  • Experience with tracking (using TIDs or UTMs) for performance tracking

  • Experience with social media contests strategies and tactics

    Education:

    BA/BS in Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
